Apache
The beautiful scenery of northern New Mexico near the Colorado border is the home to the Jicarilla Apache Nation. The tribe includes 2,700+ tribal members. In the 18th Century, they settled deep in the southern San Juan Mountains. From fishing and hiking, as well as many other outdoor activities, the Jicarilla Apache Nation's land offers unlimited possibilities. The Jicarilla Apache Nation also offers a 14,500 acre elk enclosure, the largest elk enclosure in the country. The nation also offers beautiful lakes such as Horse, Stone, La Jara, Embalm and Mundo which is home to thousands of ducks and many varieties of waterbirds found in the southwest.
